How can I make good Blue Mountain coffee?
Every time I go I drink in Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee and bring some home. I take Always cloth floor, follow the instructions and still can not get to taste restaurants. I bought brands that this "certified" stamp it is authentic. So what's the secret? Do I have to use water of Jamaica? If it if … I'm screwed: (This time I made home and grains in the hope that perhaps fresh ground are better.
When it comes to coffee, there are two rules: 1. Arabica 2. Fresh, fresh, fresh. Blue Mountain Arabica is, if you have one. But good coffee does not keep very long, no matter what. You must be roasted beans are as fresh as possible, after 8 weeks, they are dead. You can try things like frozen and stored in containers under vacuum to give a little more time, but 8 weeks is the maximum time after roasting you can get a good cup from a roast. Then you grind just before brewing, and you drink right after brewing. I take some with me in a thermos at work, and it is much better and more affordable than what I can get to a coffee shop. Don Francisco has an online catalog of great coffees they will be shipped to your door in a few days after roasting. Stick with the beans, not those floor unless you want to try their espresso, which is also great, because it is cool. Just do not buy too much and be sure to drink in a month or two.
