Vision Solutions For Correcting Eyesight

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Whether we are studying for long hours or working on our PCs or watching television, eyes are the foremost part that get directly affected. And this leads to their weakening. There are so many things to do and work on daily, that our eyes get stressed and with time need some help for correcting vision.

One good option for correcting the eyesight for proper vision is contact lens. Contact lenses are preferred by the people over glasses as their glasses often slide over noses, get dirtier and need cleaning, and develop fog in winter. Contact lenses are also comfortable while playing games, as they don’t bounce up and down like glasses.

There are different types of contact lenses available in the marketplace. Even gift them to your loved ones as tokens of a remembrance or to celebrate a special day like Christmas or New Years, and even Thanksgiving Day or any day.

Popular types of lenses include:

Soft contact lenses – Soft contact lenses are preferred by most of the lens wearers as they contain high amounts of water rich in oxygen, passing freely through the eye. However, as the lenses are porous, they is prone to infection, hence the need to take them out at night to get disinfected.

Hard contact lenses – These lenses are made up of rigid material that is easy to clean but less comfortable than soft lenses. Hard lenses do also allow less oxygen to pass through eyes.

Rigid gas-permeable lenses – These are semi-hard lenses but provide more oxygen to the eye. An eye specialist often refers these to astigmatism patients.

Extended-wear lenses – These are special lenses that can be worn continuously without taking them out at night. These lenses offer certain conveniences like less cleaning but are permeable so the cornea gets infected easily, so use caution.

Disposable lenses – These lenses are used for certain limited periods like a day, a week or a month and then are thrown away. As these lenses are replaced regularly, there are less chances of eye infection. These lenses are made up of a thinner material and have higher water content and therefore are more comfortable for eyes.

Eyeglasses

The glasses are most commonly used by the people for correcting vision while doing daily activities. There are different types of lens used in glasses like polycarbonate or high-index lenses and regular plastic lenses. The glasses can be coated with certain coatings like ultraviolet coating or anti-reflective coating.

There are different types of frames in the market that can be used in glasses depending on the budget, material and durability. There are metal and plastic frames, available in different colors.

Buying Glasses Online

There are different online stores offering glasses at reasonable prices to the consumers. This is a fun activity that also helps the individual in selecting the glasses. You can try designer frames; for example, designer rectangular shaped frames are popular among women.

Laser Surgery

Laser eye surgery can correct common vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism permanently. It’s necessary to do a follow-up procedure to further correct the vision as after surgery the eyes need to adjust to the environment.

Eyeglasses – Fashion Accessories For Your Face

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Have you ever heard someone utter the words “designer” and “reading glasses” in the same breath? When talking about designer products, normally topics like clothing, handbags, and even shoes come up, but what about eyeglasses. Does the fact that you now wear reading glasses allow you to enter a whole new world of designer products?

High fashion labels adorn more consumer end products today than they ever have before. Take a look and you will find that today’s designer labels have conquered the eyeglass market as well. It was only a matter of time before reading glasses would become more of a fashion statement and smart designers have taken notice. On the flip side, consumers are keeping an eye out for the high quality they have come to expect from products that come with these high end labels; and they are finding it in their eyeglass frames.

When it comes to reading glasses, look for designer names such as Amy Sacks, Scojo, Eyebobs, and Cinzia for the highest in quality and fashion. These eyeglass designers have truly bridged the gap between form and function.

When looking for styles that will make you feel as if your unique signature is put on your reading glasses, consider these designers. They are the pioneers who have brought readers to the forefront of fashion, by including funky touches like topless frames, wide temples, and cutting edge shapes. Look for custom elements such as european spring hinges embedded swarovski crystals. And don’t forget the colors; today it is not unusual to find a bright splash of red or combination of varying hues on any one pair of reading glass frames.

Don’t think it stops there. Rather than the typical pouches or clam cases that have protected eyeglasses for years, you can protect and carry your designer reading glasses in stylish clutch bags, aluminum flip-top containers, or hard sided cases. These cases are just as eye catching and fun as the contents they were designed to carry. The case offers a whole new way to reflect your personal sense of style.

All these factors combined make for some contemporary and chic fashion accessories. Online boutiques, such as http://www.ReadinStyle.com, make it easy for you to locate the latest styles. You are sure to find that reading glasses have found homes in purses, briefcases, pockets, and evening bags of fashion savvy presbyopes everywhere. Look for new styles and new ways to express yourself with designer reading glasses and complimentary accessories.

When you find yourself shopping for reading glasses, you can finally look forward to all the fashionable possibilities.
